The End of Life Options Act
The bill has been introduced again in the 2025-2026 legislative session
- January 16: “An Act Relative to End of Life Options” introduced in the House (H.2505) and Senate (S.1486). This bill has substantial changes from the 2023-2024 version.
- February 27: Assigned to Joint Committee on Public Health.
- March 24: Hearing announced for April 2.
- April 2: Public hearing. Watch it here.
- My written testimony submitted to the committee.
- The Committee has until the second Wednesday of February 2026 to report out on the bill.
- July 3: The House version (H.2505) reported favorably and sent to Joint Committee on Health Care Financing.
- November 17: The Senate version (S.1486) reported favorably and sent to the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, of which Sen. Comerford, who is the presenter of the bill, is the vice chair.
- December 8: Reporting date for the House bill extended to Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
